THE CHRISTIAN SOLDIER’S SWORD”

Every preparation of evil against you shall fail because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.
Good -Life Devotional:
“THE CHRISTIAN SOLDIER’S SWORD”
By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi
Psalms 18:34

"He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms."
Psalms 144:1 "Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:"
Romans 13:4 (AMP)
“For he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, [you should be afraid] for he does not carry the sword for nothing; he is God’s servant, an avenger who brings punishment on the wrongdoer.”
Christians serving in the military often wonder if carrying a physical weapon conflicts with their faith in Christ, the Prince of Peace. Yet Scripture makes a clear distinction between personal vengeance, which Christ forbids, and lawful defense of life and order, which God permits through legitimate authority.
When soldiers serve under a lawful government to protect their nation from external or internal aggression, they act as ministers of justice, not agents of cruelty. John the Baptist told soldiers to act honestly and contentedly, not to abandon their calling (Luke 3:14). David, though a warrior, was called “a man after God’s heart.” Cornelius, a centurion, became the first Gentile believer. Their service, when guided by righteousness, honored God.
Yet, even in uniform, a believer’s true battle remains spiritual. Our physical weapons may defend nations, but our spiritual weapons — faith, truth, righteousness, and prayer — defend our hearts and conquer evil within. As Paul wrote, “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God” (2 Corinthians 10:4).
Are you carrying both your physical duty and your spiritual mission with integrity and faith?
In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and for the salvation of our men and women in uniform .
PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to preach the gospel..
Lord, give me courage to defend what is right, wisdom to act with restraint, and strength to fight every spiritual battle with Your Word as my sword. Amen.
