Good -Life Devotional: THE ENEMIES OF THE CHURCH ARE ON A PATH OF MUTUALLY ASSURED DESTRUCTION

   The enemies of the Church are ultimately on a path of self-destruction, for those who rise against God’s people contend with the Almighty Himself. In 2 Chronicles 20:20–23, when Judah faced overwhelming enemies, God caused confusion among their adversaries until they turned on one another and destroyed themselves. This divine pattern shows that opposition to the Church is opposition to God’s purpose, and such rebellion cannot stand.

     The Lord declares in Isaiah 49:25–26, “I will contend with those who contend with you, and I will save your children… I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh, and they shall be drunk with their own blood as with sweet wine.” The enemies of the Church devour themselves because divine justice ensures that evil consumes its own source.

    David foresaw this in Psalm 35:8—“Let destruction come upon him unaware; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself.” Similarly, Psalm 40:14 declares that those who seek the ruin of the righteous shall be ashamed and confounded together. God’s righteousness guarantees that the snares set for His people will backfire upon their makers.

   Just as Pharaoh’s army drowned in the sea they pursued Israel through (Exodus 14:27–28), so every modern adversary of the Church will face the consequences of its own violence. The Church remains indestructible, for Christ declared, “The gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18). The enemies of the Cross are destined for mutual ruin, but God’s people shall stand in everlasting triumph.

  In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and protection of Christians from persecution .

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome oppression.
