ARCHAEOLOGY SUPPORTS BIBLICAL CLAIMS.

Matthew 22:29

"Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. "

2 Peter 3:16 "As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.'

The bible is a compilation of human actions and their consequences. So it serves as a moral compass to society to navigate through life with its complexities.

The world is in chaos because of the neglect of God's word . The scriptures  says in Proverbs 13:13 " Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded."

Many persons for the temporal pleasures of sin neglect the bible claiming inerrancy as a reason for that while it has been proven scientifically through archeology to be true .

Archaeology has often intersected with biblical history, unearthing artifacts and sites that support scriptural narratives. Here are five major archaeological discoveries that validate Bible claims:

1. **The Dead Sea Scrolls**: Discovered between 1947 and 1956 in the Qumran Caves near the Dead Sea, these ancient manuscripts include texts from the Hebrew Bible, dating back to the third century BCE. They validate the accuracy and preservation of biblical texts like Isaiah, affirming verses such as Isaiah 53:5, which prophesies the suffering of the Messiah.

2. **The Tel Dan Stele**: Unearthed in northern Israel in 1993, this Aramaic inscription from the 9th century BCE mentions the "House of David." This find corroborates the biblical existence of King David, mentioned extensively in 1 Samuel 16:13 and throughout 2 Samuel.

3. **The Pilate Stone**: Discovered in 1961 in Caesarea Maritima, this limestone block bears the inscription of Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor who ordered Jesus' crucifixion. This artifact provides historical context for the New Testament references to Pilate, notably in John 19:13-16, confirming his role in Jesus’ trial and execution.

4. **The Hezekiah Tunnel**: Found in Jerusalem, this tunnel was constructed during King Hezekiah's reign, around 701 BCE, to secure water during the Assyrian siege, as described in 2 Kings 20:20 and 2 Chronicles 32:30. The tunnel's existence substantiates the biblical account of Hezekiah's engineering feats.

5. **The Moabite Stone (Mesha Stele)**: Discovered in 1868 in Dhiban, Jordan, this stone dates back to the 9th century BCE and records King Mesha of Moab's rebellion against Israel, paralleling the narrative in 2 Kings 3:4-8. It mentions the Israelite king Omri, aligning with the biblical timeline.

These discoveries not only affirm specific biblical events and figures but also enhance our understanding of the historical and cultural contexts of biblical times.

They are given to humanity to build our faith in the word of God.

Prayer : Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to preach the Gospel. Amen
