TRUE CHRISTIANITY AND SOOTHSAYING IN NATION BUILDING

   Jeremiah 23:32

" Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD.'

    True Christianity, rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ, emphasizes values such as love, compassion, humility, and justice. It serves as a moral compass for many individuals and communities, guiding their actions and decisions. In the context of nation-building, True Christianity can play a pivotal role by fostering ethical leadership, promoting social justice, and encouraging community service.

Christian leaders and believers who embody these values often advocate for policies that reflect the common good, prioritize the welfare of the marginalized, and promote peace and reconciliation. Their influence can lead to the establishment of just laws, equitable distribution of resources, and the cultivation of a society that values every individual. True Christianity’s emphasis on integrity and honesty can combat corruption and foster a culture of transparency and accountability in governance.

In contrast, the presence of soothsayers in the process of nation-building can be contentious. Soothsayers, who claim to predict the future through supernatural means, often operate outside the frameworks of rational and evidence-based decision-making. While some cultures historically respected and relied on their insights, in contemporary nation-building, the reliance on soothsayers can undermine democratic processes and rational policy-making. Decisions influenced by soothsayers can lead to irrational policies, fuel superstition, and detract from scientifically-grounded and ethically-sound governance practices.

However, the impact of soothsayers varies depending on the societal context. In some communities, their roles are intertwined with cultural traditions and spirituality, making their influence more complex. The challenge lies in balancing respect for cultural practices with the need for decisions that are informed by reliable data and ethical considerations.

    Soothsayers are known to visit and strengthen corrupt government officials claiming to be anointed with special grace for success and aid them in their  economic crimes . This hinders repentance and increases poverty in the society , the bible says in Ezekiel 13:22

  "Because with lies ... strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life: "    

    True Christianity’s emphasis on moral values and ethical behavior can significantly contribute to nation-building by promoting justice, equity, and integrity. On the other hand, reliance on soothsayers poses risks by potentially undermining rational decision-making and promoting superstition. The interplay between these influences can shape the trajectory of a nation’s development, highlighting the need for a balanced approach that respects cultural traditions while prioritizing rational and ethical governance.

Prayer : Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome poverty. Amen
