I WAS GLAD WHEN THEY SAID LET'S GO TO THE HOUSE OF GOD

The anointing of God's favour is destroying the stronghold of emotional depression now .

Good -Life Devotional:

I WAS GLAD WHEN THEY SAID  LET'S GO TO THE HOUSE OF GOD

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Luke 19:46 "Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer:......  "

1 Peter 2:5 " Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ."

"I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord." (Psalm 122:1, KJV). This verse captures the joy and anticipation of worshippers who understand the profound privilege of entering God’s house. The Psalmist expresses a heartfelt delight, resonating with believers who find solace and community within the sacred space of worship.

The house of God represents more than a physical building; it symbolizes a sanctuary where individuals gather to worship, pray, and find spiritual nourishment. The joy of entering God's house is rooted in the understanding that it is a place where God's presence is profoundly felt. As Jesus stated, "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." (Matthew 18:20, NIV). This promise of divine presence transforms the house of God into a place of refuge and spiritual renewal.

Moreover, the act of gathering for worship fosters a sense of community among believers. Hebrews 10:25 urges, "Not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." This underscores the importance of communal worship and mutual encouragement in the faith journey.

The house of God is also a place of learning and growth. In 2 Timothy 3:16-17, we read, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." The teaching received in God’s house equips believers to live out their faith effectively.

In conclusion, the joy expressed in Psalm 122:1 reflects the deep spiritual satisfaction found in worshiping God together. It’s a celebration of God's presence, the encouragement of community, and the opportunity for spiritual growth. As we heed the call to go into the house of the Lord, we embrace these blessings with gladness and gratitude.

Prayer: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to be joyful always.
