Good -Life Devotional: PARTAKERS OF GOD'S HOLINESS

Psalms 24:3 "Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?"

 Psalms 86:2 "Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee."

  The word 'holy' as used by king David to describe himself before God is the Hebrew word "châsîyd" and it means a pious , Saint. When did he attain this status . It was the day he put his trust in the Lord . It was the same thing that occured when a Abraham was declared righteous because he trusted God . So it is with the believer in the saving grace of Jesus Christ. You should be bold to say 'I am holy' just like David inspire of his shortcomings. Holiness is a gift from God . 

   Partaking in God's holiness is a central theme in Christian spirituality, emphasizing the transformative process of becoming more like Christ. Hebrews 12:10 highlights this divine intention: "For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness." This verse underscores the purpose of God's discipline: to mold believers into His holy image.

   Holiness, derived from the Greek word "hagios," means to be set apart for God's purposes. In 1 Peter 1:15-16, believers are exhorted, "But as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, 'You shall be holy, for I am holy.'" This call to holiness is not merely about moral purity but involves a profound dedication to God's will and ways.

Participation in God's holiness requires both divine intervention and human response. Philippians 2:12-13 encapsulates this dynamic: "Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure." As God works within, believers are empowered to pursue a life reflecting His holy nature.

Thus, partakers of God's holiness are those who, through grace and discipline, strive to embody God's sacred character, manifesting His love, purity, and righteousness in their daily lives.

Prayer: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again and I receive as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to walk in holiness. Amen
