YIELD YOUR MEMBERS TO RIGHTEOUSNESS

You shall make great progress despite the prevailing circumstances because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional: YIELD YOUR MEMBERS TO RIGHTEOUSNESS

10/6/24

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Psalms 1:6 "For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish."

Yielding your members to righteousness is a fundamental tenet of Christian living, emphasizing the transformation from a life of sin to one of holiness and obedience to God. The Apostle Paul addresses this concept profoundly in his epistle to the Romans. In Romans 6:13, Paul instructs believers, "Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness."

This call to righteousness reflects a deeper spiritual renewal. Romans 6:19 further elucidates this by stating, "Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness." Here, Paul emphasizes the need for a conscious and active decision to commit one's actions and life to God's service.

Yielding to righteousness involves a daily commitment to embody Christ-like virtues. Galatians 5:16-17 reinforces this idea, urging believers to "walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh." By aligning our actions with the Holy Spirit's guidance, we resist sinful tendencies and cultivate a life that reflects God's holiness. Through this ongoing surrender, believers experience spiritual growth and fulfill their calling to live as instruments of God's righteousness.

Prayer: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to live righteously. Amen
