FIRE SHALL CONSUME THE TENTS OF BRIBERY

What was meant to bring about your destruction shall result in your breakthrough because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional:

FIRE SHALL CONSUME THE TENTS OF BRIBERY

Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Isaiah 33:14-15 "The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

[15]He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;"

The above scripture says bribery could result in a person being sent to hell fire because of its effect in the promotion of the gospel .

The area where our church is  located  has been without public power supply for over a hundred days because of our position against the bribery of staff of the electricity distribution company. This has affected the promotion of gospel adversely as hundreds of thousands of Naira are being spent on purchase of petrol at exorbitant prices and maintenance of electricity generators . This is one example of how nations are destroyed by persons who have become tools in the hands of satan .

Bribery is a destructive force that undermines both national development and the advancement of God's kingdom. It fosters corruption, inequality, and injustice, which are contrary to God's principles of righteousness and fairness. In Acts 24:26, we see how Felix, a Roman governor, hoped for a bribe from Paul, showing how deeply ingrained bribery was in the society of that time. Such practices not only hinder the fair administration of justice but also lead to the oppression of the poor and vulnerable.

Job 15:34 declares, “For the company of the godless will be barren, and fire will consume the tents of bribery.” This verse highlights God’s judgment on those who engage in bribery. It leads to barrenness, both spiritually and materially, as those who practice it face the consequences of their actions.

Proverbs 17:23 also warns, “The wicked accept bribes in secret to pervert the course of justice.” This perversion of justice leads to a society where truth and righteousness are compromised, impeding national growth and prosperity.

God’s kingdom is built on justice, mercy, and truth. Bribery, by its very nature, opposes these values. Those who engage in it are not only harming their nation but also inviting God's judgment upon themselves. Bribery results in calamity, the scripture says in

Proverbs 10:2 (NIV): "Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value, but righteousness delivers from death."Proverbs 13:11 (NIV):

Also

"Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow."Jeremiah 17:11 (NIV):

Also

"Like a partridge that hatches eggs it did not lay are those who gain riches by unjust means. When their lives are half gone, their riches will desert them, and in the end they will prove to be fools."

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome temptation.
