Good -Life Devotional :

GOD RULES IN THE AFFAIRS OF MEN REGARDLESS OF THE GOVERNMENT IN POWER

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Psalms 24:1 : The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.'

Hosea 8:4 "They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.'

Throughout history, God has demonstrated His sovereignty over earthly kingdoms, ruling through His people regardless of the governing authorities in power. Mordecai, Daniel, and Joseph are prime examples of individuals who, despite serving under foreign rulers, played crucial roles in God’s divine plan.

Mordecai, serving under King Ahasuerus, was instrumental in saving the Jewish people from annihilation (Esther 4:14). His steadfast faith and courage ensured that God’s purpose was fulfilled, even in a hostile environment.

Daniel, taken captive by Babylon, rose to a position of influence under multiple kings, including Nebuchadnezzar and Darius. His unwavering devotion to God, as seen in Daniel 6:10, allowed him to interpret dreams and survive the lion’s den, proving that God’s authority surpasses all earthly powers (Daniel 2:21).

Joseph’s story in Genesis 41 highlights how God can use His people to bring about His will, even in foreign lands. Sold into slavery, Joseph rose to become Pharaoh’s second-in-command, saving Egypt and his family from famine.

These examples show that God rules in the kingdom of men through His faithful servants, regardless of the government in power, fulfilling His purposes through their obedience and integrity (Proverbs 21:1).

We should seek to know God's purpose concerning of country and be rest assured that it shall be fulfilled regardless of the government in power , the scripture says Isaiah 14:27

"For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?"

In your daily prayers seek for God's righteous will to be done in the land and ask to be used for righteous leadership  wherever you are.
