TRUST IN GOD'S JUSTICE IN HIS OWN TIME.

 The evil pronouncements against you shall be overturned because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Gooo-Life Devotional:

TRUST IN GOD'S JUSTICE IN HIS OWN TIME.

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

   In Luke 18:2-8, Jesus shares the parable of the persistent widow, emphasizing the importance of steadfast prayer and trust in God's justice. The widow persistently sought justice from an unjust judge, and though he initially refused, he eventually granted her request due to her relentless persistence. Jesus then contrasts the unjust judge with God, who is perfectly just. "And shall not God avenge His own elect, which cry day and night unto Him, though He bear long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily" (Luke 18:7-8, KJV). The word 'avenge' is the Greek word :ekdikēsis' it means to punish , retribution. Punishment is a characteristics of God's righteousness in the new testament. The bible says in 2 Thessalonians 1:6,8 "Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;

[8]In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: "

The bible verses in Luke 18: 2-8 underscores that although God may seem slow to act, His delay is not a sign of neglect but of divine timing. We see this principle in the story of Herod, whose atrocities began at the birth of Christ when he ordered the massacre of innocent children (Matthew 2:16). Herod's cruelty continued into the New Testament, as seen when he jailed Peter in Acts 12:1-4. However, God's judgment was inevitable—Herod eventually met a swift and divine end (Acts 12:23).

God’s justice, though patient, is sure. As Romans 12:19 reminds us, "Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord." Therefore, believers are encouraged to trust in God's timing, knowing that He will avenge His people in due season.

  In our daily prayers and church meetings ,we should be persistent in our demands for God's vengeance on acts of injustice in the society and he will avenge in due time .       Out refusal to do so will result in an escalation of evil in the  society that would eventually destroy our communities and nation . The bible says Ecclesiastes 8:11 " Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil."

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome oppression.
