 The anointing of God's favour is opening doors for you in high places.

Good -Life Devotional:

GOD SEEKS FOR AVAILABILITY NOT ABILITY (PART 2)

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

2 Corinthians 12:9

" And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

*GIDEON : THE FEARFUL WARRIOR (Judges 6-7)

Gideon is another example of God calling someone who seemed an unlikely choice for leadership. When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he was threshing wheat in a winepress to hide it from the Midianites. Gideon’s first response to God’s call was one of doubt and fear. He saw himself as the least in his family and his clan as the weakest in Manasseh (Judges 6:15).

Despite Gideon’s initial reluctance, God assured him, "The Lord is with you, mighty warrior" (Judges 6:12). Gideon eventually made himself available to God’s plan. Though he lacked confidence in his abilities, he obeyed God’s instructions, even when they seemed illogical—like reducing his army from 32,000 to just 300 men (Judges 7:2-7).

God used Gideon’s availability to bring about a miraculous victory over the Midianites. This story highlights that God’s power is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Gideon’s story teaches us that God is not concerned with our fears or limitations. He seeks those who are willing to trust Him and follow His guidance, regardless of how inadequate they may feel.

 The ability to serve in whatever capacity as a servant of God especially in leadership comes from the lord . We should recognise that he has made us able ministers or leaders . The scripture says in 2 Corinthians 3:5-6

[5]Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

[6]Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life." Therefore, our confidence is in his ability being expressed through us. Our sufficiency as leaders is ot him . His Spirit will always be there to strengthen and guide us .

PRAYER : Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to promote good governance. Amen
