WHY GOD HATES ROBBERY FOR OFFERINGS

Those persons  behind the delay in your progress shall not know peace until they do the needful because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional:

WHY GOD HATES ROBBERY FOR OFFERINGS.

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Ecclesiastes 5:19

" Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.*

Ecclesiastes 6:2

"A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eateth it: this is vanity, and it is an evil disease."

The Bible makes it clear that God despises injustice and corruption, especially when it involves acts disguised as religious offerings. Isaiah 61:8 states, "For I, the Lord, love justice; I hate robbery for burnt offering; I will direct their work in truth, and will make an everlasting covenant with them." This verse emphasizes that God does not accept offerings gained through dishonest means. He desires sincerity and righteousness in worship.

Isaiah 1:23 further highlights the corruption among leaders: "Your rulers are rebels, partners with thieves; they all love bribes and chase after gifts. They do not defend the cause of the fatherless; the widow's case does not come before them." This verse condemns leaders who exploit others and neglect justice for personal gain.

Micah 3 warns of the consequences of such actions, describing how corrupt leaders and prophets, who distort justice for bribes, will face darkness and disgrace. Their greed blinds them to truth, leading to their downfall.

Revelation 3:17 reflects the spiritual poverty of those who deceive themselves : "You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked." The consequences of greed and corruption leave individuals spiritually bankrupt, estranged from God’s true riches.

To maintain  sanity in society,  religious leaders are expected  to have an idea of what each Church member  does for a living . A pastor who refuses to do that is inviting God's wrath upon his or her ministry according to Isaiah 1 and Micah 3. Proceeds from fraud are an abomination to God when given as offerings  the bible says in Proverbs 15:8 "The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight."  Some preachers are known for pursuing after notable criminals to partake of their loot using religious offerings as a cover thus legalising illegality and  encourage greed in the society  (Hebrews 13:5,  Luke 12:15) God's word is very clear on what he will do to such ministers  Job 15:34

" For the congregation of hypocrites shall be desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery."

PRAYER : Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome oppression.
