Good -Life Devotional:
GOD THE FATHER IS INSEPARABLE FROM THE SON AND THE SPIRIT
By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi
The Christian doctrine of the Trinity reveals that God is one in essence and three in persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This unity means the Father is inseparable from the Son and the Spirit, each fully and eternally God, working in perfect harmony. Though distinct in personhood, they share the same divine nature and purpose.
Jesus declared this unity plainly: “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30, AMP). His words emphasize not only agreement but shared divine essence. Again, in John 14:9, Jesus says, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father.” This reveals the inseparable nature of their relationship—one cannot truly know the Father without knowing the Son , just like the Sun and sunrays. God likens himself to the sun in Psalm 84:11. Picture this God as Sun Father , Sunrays (son ), Heat energy from the sun (Spirit)
The Holy Spirit, too, is fully united with the Father and the Son. Jesus promised the Spirit as “another Comforter (Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby)” (John 14:16, AMP), indicating continuity and divine unity. The Spirit proceeds from the Father (John 15:26) and glorifies the Son (John 16:14), never acting independently of the Godhead.
Paul affirms this unity in salvation: “There is one body and one Spirit... one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of us all” (Ephesians 4:4–6). Each Person of the Trinity participates in creation, redemption, and the believer’s transformation.
Thus, the Father is never without the Son and the Spirit. To encounter the work of one is to witness the unified love, will, and glory of all three. This inseparable bond is the foundation of Christian faith and the revelation of God's nature.
In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and sensitivity to his Holy Spirit.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome temptation.
