Good -Life Devotional: YOUR FAITH SHOULD NOT BE BASED ON HUMAN WISDOM, BUT THE POWER OF GOD

In 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 (AMP), Paul writes, “And my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom [using clever rhetoric], but they were delivered in demonstration of the [Holy] Spirit operating through me and of His power [stirring the minds of the listeners and persuading them], so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom and rhetoric of men, but on the power of God.” This clearly shows that authentic Christian faith is not rooted in eloquent speech or philosophical arguments, but in a personal encounter with God's supernatural power.

Jesus commanded His disciples in Matthew 10:8, “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” This command was not only for the twelve but for all who believe in Him (Mark 16:17-18). Faith in Christ is confirmed and sustained by the Holy Spirit working through believers in power, not mere intellectual persuasion.

Stephen, though not one of the original apostles, was “full of faith and power, [and] did great wonders and signs among the people” (Acts 6:8). His life illustrates that even those not in official leadership can walk in the supernatural power of God.

Romans 15:18-19 and 1 Thessalonians 1:5 affirm that the Gospel spreads through “mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God.” Let every believer seek this demonstration of God’s power, so that faith may rest not in words, but in a living experience with Christ.

 In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and faith to work in the supernatural.

PRAYER; Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to work miracles.
