Jesus’ final words before His ascension were clear: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” (Mark 16:15 AMP). In verses 17–18, He promises that signs will accompany those who believe—casting out demons, speaking in new tongues, healing the sick. Then verse 20 declares, “And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord was working with them and confirming the word by the signs that followed.” This reveals a powerful truth: God confirms His Word with power when we boldly preach it.

The gospel is not a suggestion—it is the power of God. Paul wrote, “I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16). Jesus Christ is the very Word and power of God (John 1:1; 1 Corinthians 1:24). When we proclaim Him, we release the authority of heaven into the earth.

Passive Christianity is powerless and dangerous. It allows darkness to thrive. But as Isaiah 60:1–2 declares, “Arise, shine, for your light has come... For behold, darkness will cover the earth... but the Lord will rise upon you.” We are called to be light in a dark world (Matthew 5:14). The gospel is God's tool to transform hearts, homes, and nations.

God wants His people to preach everywhere, every day (2 Timothy 4:2). When the gospel is boldly proclaimed, corruption is exposed, lives are changed, and God's power is revealed in undeniable ways.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and boldness to preach the gospel. 

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to preach the gospel with signs and wonders.
