Good -Life Devotional: THE POWER OF GOD ENDS ARGUMENTS AND OPENS HEARTS

 I went for evangelism and was met by a man who claimed the Bible was not reliable and he referred to a  statement in the NIV Bible which stated that Mark 16;15-20 was not reliable. I said let us put it to test . I asked if there was a sick person that needed healing and a lady with a tumor in her breast for six years asked to be prayed for and was healed instantly with the tumor disappearing. That ended the argument.

   The demonstration of God's power silences arguments and paves the way for the Gospel. In Mark 2:7–12, when Jesus healed the paralyzed man, the crowd questioned His authority to forgive sins. But when He commanded the man to rise and walk—and he did—everyone was amazed. This undeniable miracle ended all debate. As verse 12 says, "They were all amazed and glorified God." Immediately after, Mark 2:13 shows Jesus teaching the crowds, a door opened by the demonstration of divine power.

   The early church thrived not merely on words but on “a demonstration of the Spirit’s power” (1 Corinthians 2:4–5). Paul didn’t rely on human wisdom but on the evidence of God’s power to stir faith. Likewise, Hebrews 2:4 says God bore witness to the message “by signs and wonders and various miracles.” Christians must yield to the Holy Spirit to confirm the Word with power.

  God is not glorified in a powerless church full of persuasive speech but lacking His presence. Jesus said in Mark 16:20, “They went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed the word by the signs that followed.” Let the church be known for power, not just talk.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and boldness to preach the gospel with signs and wonders.

PRAYERS; Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to work miracles.
