James 4:3

" Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts."

  When prayers are made out of target there will be no answers to prayers. In our church prayer meetings we should seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit in our prayers . 

  Witchcraft cults have taken over the power sector in Nigeria resulting in the destruction of destinies through untold hardship . These evil power workers are members of the congregation of some churches and mosques and should be chastised and taught about the implications of their evil manipulations in the power sector .  These include : 

 4. Disrupted Education System

  Schools and educational institutions are unable to function optimally without power, disrupting the learning process and limiting access to information. The bible says “Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance.” — Proverbs 1:5. Education, essential for growth, is hindered without stable electricity.

 “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” — Nelson Mandela. Lack of power weakens the capacity for education to transform lives.

5. Public Safety and Security Issues

Power outages lead to increased crime rates as streetlights and security systems fail, creating opportunities for lawlessness.

 The bible says “When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.” — Proverbs 21:15. The lack of security measures due to power cuts promotes disorder.

    “An unexamined life is not worth living.” — Socrates. Living in constant insecurity prevents people from leading fulfilled lives.

6. Political Instability

  Chronic electricity shortages erode public trust in the government, leading to protests, strikes, and possible civil unrest.

 The bible says “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” — Proverbs 29:2. Ineffective governance often leads to societal distress.

   “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” — Lord Acton. Political leaders may face instability when failing to provide basic services like electricity.

7. Environmental Degradation

  A lack of reliable electricity forces people to turn to alternative, often harmful, energy sources like diesel generators, which contribute to environmental degradation.

 The bible says “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” — Psalm 24:1. Failing to protect the environment contradicts humanity’s stewardship over the Earth. Global warming results in excessive rain , desertification and floods and this can be linked to the failure in the power sector. 

   “What is the use of a house if you haven’t got a tolerable planet to put it on?” — Henry David Thoreau. Protecting the environment is essential for future generations.

   These aforementioned effects illustrate the widespread challenges that arise from a prolonged electricity supply failure, highlighting the need for responsible governance and foresight. Both the Bible and philosophers emphasize the importance of leadership, justice, and the well-being of society in such crises. 

  In our daily prayers we should seek to have a healthy appetite for God's word and the pulling down of Satan's stronghold over the power sector through corrupt persons in leadership and the institution of a working power system in righteousness ( Use psalm 35, Psalm 149 , Psalm 37, Job 20  in prayers  ) 

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome poverty.
