AVOID THESE SELFISH THINGS MARRIED PEOPLE DO THAT DESTROYS MARRIAGES ( PART 1)

    Selfishness is the quality or practice of prioritizing one’s own interests, desires, or well-being above those of others, often without regard for the needs or feelings of others. It involves excessive self-focus and a lack of consideration for the impact of one’s actions on others. Biblically, selfishness is viewed as contrary to the principle of love and selflessness, which calls for putting others' needs before one’s own (Philippians 2:3-4).

Here are ten signs of a selfish spouse along with corresponding Bible verses:

1. PRIORITIZING THEIR NEEDS OVER YOURS

   A selfish spouse constantly prioritizes their desires, neglecting the needs of their partner.

The bible says : "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves." (Philippians 2:3)

2. LACK OF COMPASSION

They show little to no empathy for your struggles or emotions.

The Bible says  "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." (Ephesians 4:32)

3. UNWILLINGNESS TO SACRIFICE

They refuse to make sacrifices for the benefit of the marriage or family.

The Bible says : "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends." (John 15:13)

4. CONSTANT CRITICISM

They are quick to point out your flaws but resist examining their own.

The Bible says : "Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye but fail to notice the beam in your own eye?" (Matthew 7:3)

5. CONTROLLING BEHAVIOR

They seek to dominate decisions without considering your input.

The Bible says : "Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful." (1 Corinthians 13:5)

  In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and to be filled with the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Pray for married couples for divine wisdom for a healthy and sustainable marriages .

 PRAYERS : Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to love .
