TRUSTING GOD FOR YOUR FINANCES (PART 3)

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Applying

Matthew 6:31-33

[31]Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

[32](For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

[33]But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. "

Prioritizing God’s Kingdom

FOCUS ON VALUES: Financial challenges can be stressful, but remembering Jesus’ advice to “seek first His kingdom” can help shift focus toward God’s priorities, which include faith, trust, and using resources for His purposes.

GIVE WHERE POSSIBLE: Even when finances are tight, giving a small amount to help others, whether through time, resources, or financially, reflects God’s heart and can bring unexpected blessings. God honors a generous heart, even when it’s a small gesture.

3. Applying Psalm 37:25 – Remembering God’s Faithfulness

REFLECT ON PAST PROVISION: Remembering past instances where God has provided or helped in tough times can strengthen faith for the future. Even writing these moments down can be a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness.

SEEK ENCOURAGEMENT: Connecting with others who have gone through similar financial challenges can bring hope and ideas on how to navigate the present. Their testimonies can serve as reminders that God is indeed faithful.

4. Applying 2 Corinthians 9:8 – Abundance for Every Good Work

SEEK OPPORTUNITIES TO HELP OTHERS: Even in financial struggle, helping someone else—even in a small way—can open doors for blessings in unexpected ways. This might be through sharing wisdom, offering skills, or even praying for others.

PRACTICE GRATITUDE: Thanking God for what you have, even if it feels like “just enough,” can open the heart to receive more. Gratitude is closely connected to peace, and it can help shift the mindset from scarcity to abundance.

Additional Practical Steps

1. BUDGETING WITH FAITH

Keeping a budget can help prioritize essentials and allow you to see how much is needed to cover demands. Asking God for wisdom in managing finances and budgeting faithfully honors Him and can bring clarity.

2. SEEKING GOD’S GUIDANCE FOR NEW OPPORTUNITIES

Sometimes, financial difficulty is a way God nudges us to look for new opportunities. This could be a new job, learning a skill, or even finding ways to reduce expenses. Remaining open to His leading can reveal surprising ways to increase provision.

3. TAKE IT DAY BY DAY

Jesus encourages us not to worry about tomorrow in Matthew 6:34. Focusing on each day as it comes helps keep our minds from getting overwhelmed and brings peace to trust God moment by moment.

 FINAL ENCOURAGEMENT

Financial struggles are challenging, but these steps, grounded in trust and faith, can help navigate them with a hopeful heart. God knows your needs and your heart, and He cares deeply about every aspect of your life, including your financial well-being. Holding on to His promises can give peace, strength, and a clearer perspective as you move forward.

In our daily prayers we should seek for faith and patience to see the manifestations of God's promises in our lives .

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power for breakthroughs.
