TRUSTING GOD FOR YOUR FINANCES (PART 2)

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Practical Steps Coupled with Faith

1. Seek God’s Wisdom in Finances

Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages trusting in God’s guidance and leaning not on our own understanding. Asking for wisdom in managing finances, discerning between needs and wants, and making wise decisions is an important step in faith. God may open doors for additional provision or show ways to save or prioritize expenses.

2. Trust in God’s Timing and Provision

Psalm 37:23-24 (from earlier) reminds us that God establishes our steps and sustains us, even when the road is challenging. When demands feel overwhelming, trusting that God will hold us up and guide us in His timing can bring peace.

3. Stay Open to God’s Provision Through Unexpected Means

Sometimes, God provides in ways we might not expect. This could be through opportunities to earn, people who offer help, or even insights on how to make resources stretch further.

ENCOURAGEMENT TO KEEP HOPE AND FAITH

Financial hardship can test faith, but these verses remind us that God is present in our struggles and that He cares deeply for our needs. He may not always answer in the way we expect, but He promises to provide in ways that help us grow and rely on Him more deeply.

Here are some  practical steps to manage financial goals with faith and trust in God’s provision. Financial struggles can feel overwhelming, but bringing our concerns to God in prayer and staying open to His guidance can make a big difference in both peace of mind and direction.

Here’s a closer look at how these verses and steps might be applied:

1. Applying Philippians 4:19 – Trust in God’s Provision

DAILY PRAYER FOR PROVISION: Making it a daily habit to ask God to meet your needs can help ease the burden of anxiety. Trusting that He will “supply your every need” can bring reassurance, even if the solutions take time.

LOOK FOR SMALL BLESSINGS: Sometimes, God’s provision comes in subtle ways—maybe a discount on something essential, finding extra savings, or a small side job. Noticing these small blessings can help build faith that God is providing step by step.

In our daily prayers we should seek for humility and wisdom to be a solution to people's problems in a financially rewarding manner.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome poverty .
