GOD'S WISDOM IS NOT CRAFTINESS

   God's wisdom is pure, righteous, and far removed from human craftiness, which is often rooted in manipulation and deceit. Job 5:12 declares, “He frustrates the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot carry out their plans.” God exposes and thwarts schemes intended to deceive or exploit others, emphasizing that His ways are upright and true.

    The gospel of Christ must never be advanced through cunning or deceit. In 2 Corinthians 4:2, Paul admonishes, “But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.” True ministers of the gospel are called to preach with integrity and sincerity, appealing to the conscience of all people and seeking the approval of God rather than using manipulation to gain followers or wealth.

     Some, however, attempt to build the church with proceeds gained through corruption or deceit, acting as “false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ” (2 Corinthians 11:13). Such actions are incompatible with the character of God and His call for believers to renounce the corrupt old nature (Colossians 2:8).

    Deceitfulness not only damages others but also hardens the heart of the deceiver, leading to sin (Hebrews 3:13). Instead, believers are called to walk in honesty, allowing God's wisdom, not human craftiness, to guide their lives and ministries. In doing so, we honor Christ and reflect His truth.

   In our daily prayers we should seek for a healthy appetite for God's word and protection from deceitfulness.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome deception.
