Good -Life Devotional: REJOICE ALWAYS: FINDING JOY IN THE MIDST OF CRISIS

  The Bible commands us to "rejoice always," as seen in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (AMP): "Rejoice always and delight in your faith; be unceasing and persistent in prayer; in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus." This verse reminds us that joy is not contingent upon circumstances but is rooted in our faith and relationship with God.

   Rejoicing in difficult times doesn’t mean denying the pain of a crisis. Rather, it acknowledges that God is present and working through every situation. James 1:2-4 (AMP) states, "Consider it nothing but joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you fall into various trials. Be assured that the testing of your faith [through experience] produces endurance." Trials are opportunities for spiritual growth, teaching us perseverance and deepening our trust in God.

    This perspective transforms our understanding of hardship. Instead of viewing challenges as mere suffering, we see them as occasions to learn and grow. Romans 8:28 (AMP) reassures us, "And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God."

   Rejoicing always reflects gratitude for God’s faithfulness. It acknowledges that even in crisis, He is refining us, building our character, and drawing us closer to Him. True joy transcends circumstances, rooted in the assurance that God’s plans are ultimately for our good and His glory.

  In our daily prayers we should seek for a healthy appetite for God's word and meekness to see the opportunity to learn wisdom out of adversity.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome depression.
